About the Department

Established in 2013, the Department of Costume Design and Fashion initiates, inculcates and innovates. The department functions as a creative and academic hub that integrates art, technology, and sustainability. The department emphasizes advanced learning in textiles, garment construction, fashion illustration, and digital and AI-assisted design. The department bridges the gap between academics and corporate world. A balanced blend of theory, studio practice, and research-oriented learning fosters creativity, ethical awareness, and critical thinking and crafts future leaders in fashion through their mentorship.

Programme Description

The M.Sc. Costume Design and Fashion programme provides advanced training that combines creative design, technical proficiency, and industry orientation. The curriculum covers pattern making, draping, CAD applications, fashion marketing, projects, sustainable design practices, management of fashion events and costumes for media. Internships, live fashion shows, industry projects, and research activities are integral components , ensuring academic depth and professional preparedness.
